About Aasara Pension Scheme
As announced earlier by Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao during the election campaign, the Telangana Government initiated the process for accepting new applications under the Aasara Old Age Pension Scheme by reducing the eligibility age from 65 years to 57 years.
Eligible citizens under the revised criteria were instructed to submit applications before August 31 through MeeSeva and e-Seva centres across Telangana.

The revised pension eligibility aims to strengthen social security and provide financial assistance to more senior citizens across Telangana.

Implementation Directions
Orders were issued directing District Collectors and the GHMC Commissioner to accept applications from newly eligible beneficiaries under the Aasara Scheme.
The administration was instructed to identify beneficiaries transparently and extend pension support to all eligible applicants.
Panchayat Raj Minister E. Dayakar Rao appealed to eligible citizens to utilize the opportunity and submit their applications within the prescribed deadline.
The Minister also instructed the e-Seva Commissioner not to collect service charges from applicants, clarifying that such charges would be reimbursed directly by the Government.

Transparent Beneficiary Identification
Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri KCR instructed officials to ensure that the identification of beneficiaries is conducted in a fair, transparent, and accountable manner so that every eligible citizen receives the benefits under the scheme.
The initiative reflects Telangana Government’s commitment toward inclusive welfare and social protection for economically vulnerable senior citizens.
